… My brain is fried. I have come to the conclusion that I loathe snow days. I don’t know why this came as such a shock considering the fact that I hated winter break to the extent that I did. I only got one day back at school; just long enough to remember that I hate it and not enough to remember that I hate break, too.
I have literally spent all day having quality time with Hector. Hector is my laptop. He’s there in the picture. I woke up at nine (I went to bed at three so I wasn’t thrilled about this) and I decided my project for the day would be to watch all of the Vlogbrothers videos I could until I was caught up. Now, I’ve been watching them for almost exactly a year now. The problem is I didn’t watch backward so there are backed up videos I haven’t seen from January first 2007 until, oh, about January 2009.
I didn’t think it would be that bad considering one day I decided I didn’t want to write my history paper so I watched every Michael Aranda Video. Or another day where I didn’t want to finish my art project so I watched every Alex Day video. I even spent one day at the beginning of winter break watching every Tessa Violet video there is. Now, after each of these people decided they wanted to kill me because I unintentionally adopt the speech patterns and thought processes as the people I had watched the previous day (I say day but this usually lasted a week or so) and I can’t stop talking about the person that I just watched because they had taken up permanent residence as the honorary dictator of my thoughts. There are very few people I watch and subscribe to that I’ve watched from the beginning, like Neil Johnson and Truth or Fail, that I don’t have to catch up on because I was there and paying attention when they were posted.
Anyway, I thought I could make it through all of the Vlogbrothers videos today. Turns out that I have the will power and concentration of a squirrel. My ADHD kicked in at about 12 March 2007 where I paused the video in the middle to update the layout on my YouTube page, make enchiladas, and draw my picture (as seen above). I think I may have to stall watching the remainder of these videos until another day because while I love them dearly my brain is not interpreting it that way. The squirrel part of my brain (commonly referred to as ADHD) told me I was metaphorically hitting my head against a wall repeatedly and kindly asked me to stop. Since it asked so nicely I will switch to some Charlie McDonnell videos to see if it is all YouTube videos currently driving me insane or just the Vlogbrothers (even though I think of them as my brothers and love them more than my own brother) since i have not watched all ‘cool like’ videos from the beginning either yet.
I would assume my procrastination of finding actual things to do interspersed with having no human contact today also lead to this enormously long note. Oh well. If you want to know anything about the items floating around in my picture just ask and I’ll explain. Also all of the people I mentioned above are linked to their YouTube page so just click on their name and you can watch their videos. Most of them also have Twitter accounts if anyone wants to go follow them there, too. Or me. Those will be linked below.
